| 16/08/2010 | Do you have a passion for singing and would you like to sing in a choir? | The Istanbul International Chamber Choir (IICC), founded in July 2009, is looking for new members! The IICC is a group of around 20 ladies (we do welcome men!) singing a variety of styles, from light classical to modern under the guidance of choirmaster Anderske Kaspersma. | 10/07/2010 | Pervin Leenhouts Charity Swim on July 18! | Pervin is going to do it again! Swimming the Bosphorus!
On Sunday July 18th, the yearly Bosphorus Cross Continental race is being held and our member and former chair woman, Pervin Leenhouts, will be one of the contestants.This Swimming race from Asia to Europe will start at the Kanlıca boat pier on the Anatolion side of the Bosphorus and finishes at the pier located in Kuruçesme Cemil Topuzlu Park on the European side.The swimmers are expected to arrive in Kurucesme between 11.30 and 12.30. We invite you to be part of the supporters welcoming Pervin on her arrival at the Kurucesme Park.
Pervin is swimming for charity. The charity she choose is IZEV, İstanbul Zihinsel Engelliler Vakfi. This foundation offers programs to mentally disabled children to integrate them in normal life as much as possible.

| 08/05/2010 | Woman ’s Rugby in Turkey | The coach, Hakan Ünsal further says, “Our new endeavour is the establishment
of the first women’s rugby team in Turkey. The Ottomans have always
pioneered the rugby in Turkey and this is a natural development. There is no
reason why women should not play rugby. It is a game that requires skill,
Istanbul Ottoman Rugby Football Club introducing Woman ’s Rugby to Turkey. We invite any interested woman or over the age of 16 to join our practices in Beşiktaş”. The aim of the Ottomans is as soon as there is a full team of woman players to initiate matches with neighbouring and other European countries. “If we get a good team together there is no reason that we cannot enter future Olympic games. I hope that women would realise that there are great opportunities in joining our fledgling team” concludes the coach.
