There are several ways of finding out what is happening in Istanbul . Here is a list of websites and magazines that are of help.

The official city guide has both English and Turkish content. The website is informative and lists currents events, festivals, concerts, opera and ballet. It also lists some information for tourists.

Expats Turkey offers lots of important information and is particularly helpful for newcomers looking to settle in. It deals with all aspects of life in Istanbul including shopping, pet care, eating out etc., and also recommends places to visit and see. An attractive and easily navigable website.

The Guide
The Guide is available in all bookstores and is published quarterly. The magazine has a comprehensive list of restaurants, nightclubs and meyhanes among a lot of other useful and practical information. It usually carries a few informative articles that give further hints on what to see and do or where to shop. Great value for your money.

One of the best available resources for expatriates in Istanbul . The website carries informative articles, lots of useful information, and a calendar of events. Listed within are concerts, art showings, movies and just about everything that is going on in town. It is updated often and one should check it regularly to see what's on.

For those of you who have a basic understanding of the language, these websites are fairly simple and easy to navigate.
http://www.biletix.com lists all events happening including theatre, dance and sporting events. It is also possible to purchase tickets online on this website.
http://www.bigglook.com also has a lot of information about what is happening and where to go.
http://www.beyazperde.com carries complete information about which movies are playing, at which theatres and at what time.
http://www.nevarneyok.com/ is a good city guide about movies, dining, theater, art and music.
