Annual IWI Christmas Bazaar - The exclusive & fun gala in Istanbul
Forty years ago, the IWI began to promote social, cultural, intellectual exchange and friendship among women of all nationalities living in Istanbul.
Our organization also supports many charities in Istanbul. Two of our main annual charity fundraising events are the Christmas Bazaar, a unique and fun-filled day of holiday spirit, and the Spring Ball, an exclusive and chic evening gala. The net proceeds raised are allocated to the IWI's charity projects, focused on helping Istanbul women and children in need.
In May, the IWI organizes its theme-based evening of dining and dancing, the Spring Ball. This year’s edition, Une Soirée Parisienne, held on Saturday, May 7th, 2011, at the Fransız Bahçeleri in Tarabya on was a success thanks to our sponsors and the volunteers involved.
Une Soirée Parisienne was dedicated to providing financial support to the Bomonti Home for the Elderly, better known in Turkish as the Fransız Fakirhanesi. The home is found in the heart of Şișli and faces many challenges; it relies solely on donations and is currently required to make major alterations in order to update the facilities according to local regulations and to bring the standard of care in line with EU regulations. The IWI wants to help in this effort in a sustainable way and was honored to once again count on your support to make a difference in the lives of the nearly 100 old people who are dependent on the continuity of this haven.
