The exhibitions at the Sakip Sabancı Museum are always of outstanding quality and we are fortunate in that our IWI partner Banu Küçüksubaşı, a professional Art Historian and Tour Guide will provide an enlightening guided tour of both the current exhibitions of the Russian Avant-garde and of Osman Hamdi Bey.

The exhibition, "Dreaming the Future. Russian Avant-garde Art and Design" is the first time the works of the important artists, Kazimir Malevich, Vladimir Tatlin,  Alexander Rodchenko, together with works by the many female artists such as Olga Rozanova, Lyubov Popova and Natalia Goncharova are exhibited in Turkey at SSM.  The works of these artists represented the turning point in 20th century art history.

There are several paintings of the famous painter and archaeologist Osman Hamdi Bey.  The exhibition "Osman Hamdi Bey Beyond Vision" is focused on the six paintings in the Sakıp Sabancı Museum's collection.  The exhibition is based on the results of the  "Scientific Analysis and Conservation of Osman Hamdi Bey's Painting" project which was completed in two years, and aims to inform the guests about the artist's paint application techniques, the materials used and the restoration work the paintings had undergone.

This was a well attended program in January and being offered again to those who were unable to attend.

We hope that you will take this opportunity to enjoy a most pleasant cultural afternoon. For those who may be interested in having a late lunch or snack, there is a very nice restaurant in the museum premises.
