This very popular walk brings you through the back streets of the 500 year old Grand Bazaar past the touristy clutter and into the areas where time stands still. We go through it's narrow passages, a labyrinth of streets, onto its rooftops and into its dignified Byzantine Caravansaries, where we visit Armenian silversmiths and Kurdish textile wholesalers. Unusual shops and so much more.
A delight for the eyes, from the crowds to oases of silence.
We are fortunate to have Monica Fritz with us to make this day a most memorable experience in Istanbul. Monica is a fine art photographer, and traveler, living away from her native New York City more than half her life, 10 years in Milano and going on 20 in Istanbul. Monica delights in sharing her curiosity and enthusiasm exploring the subtleties of the city.
NOTE: Optional lunch (not included in the price) in a local kebabci and a chance to shop at the end.
