We are repeating this most enjoyable art workshop for those who had missed it in April.
Create your own pieces of functional art using the old technique of block printing. The Mavi Kaplumba Atölyesi (Art Workshop) in Kalamış is opening its doors to our members where we will have the opportunity to use blocks created by the well renowned and highly esteemed Turkish poet and artist Bedri Rahmi Eyüpoğlu. The artist is survived by his "gelin" or daughter-in-law, Hughette Eyüpoğlu, one of the founders of the Networks of Foreign Spouses and the IWI, and son Rahmi (and family) who will be on hand to welcome and also perform the workshop.
We'll first visit the artist's home and workshop. Then we'll aspire to create our own treasures. We'll have the opportunity to put our designs on a pillow case, clothe bag, and clutch. Then we can paint the designs however we desire to bring them to life.
All materials will be provided. So come chat and paint amongst friends over tea and snacks while you create your own Bedri Rahmi art pieces to take home. Afterwards, for those who can, we can stroll down the street to enjoy a lunch together at the marina.
